Visitor Info

Having family and friends visit while you are in the hospital can be an important part of your recovery process, so we try to be as accommodating as possible with our visitation policy. However, rest is also very important to people who are recovering from illness or surgery, so we ask that you and your visitors observe the guidelines we have established.

View our Visitor Policy for more details.

Supporting Your Loved One

We believe support from family and friends is a critical component of recovery. Whether your loved one can respond to you or not, you can help keep their spirits up by simply being there. We encourage visits as often as possible and invite you to bring family pictures, letters, and cherished personal items to surround your loved one with positivity.

Information such as visitation policies, parking, and cafeteria hours is included below for your convenience.  If you have any questions after reviewing this page, please give us a call!

Visiting Hours & Guidelines

  • Visiting hours are from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Patients in ER, outpatient procedures, and those under the age of 16 are permitted to have one companion with them if as long as approved by healthcare staff. To help keep everyone informed about the patient’s status and planned care, we ask that the patient’s one visitor be the communicator for the rest of the family and friends.
  • Due to the nature of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), visitation is determined on an individual basis. Ennis Regional Medical Center traditionally practices an open policy; however, depending on the needs of the patient, visitation may be restricted.
  • Visitors must enter through the main lobby or ER entrance. Visitors must acknowledge their temperature, any signs or symptoms of COVID-19, and if they have had any exposure to COVID-19. If a visitor does not meet the screening criteria, they will be asked to leave and not return until they meet the screening criteria.
  • Masks must be worn at all times while in the facility. Please bring a mask or cloth face covering with you when you come to visit.
  • Upon entry, please use hand sanitizer on your hands and continue to clean your hands frequently while visiting the facility.
  • Visitors should remain in the patient's room as much as possible while they are in the facility.
  • Visitors are not permitted for patients who are suspected to have or are confirmed to be positive for COVID-19.

Waiting Areas

Ennis Regional Medical Center has open visiting hours depending upon the condition of the patient. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times when visiting the hospital. Please use caution when bringing young visitors to the hospital. Do not allow children with cough, fever, rash, sore throat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or recent exposure to illness to visit.

Family Waiting Room

For the convenience of your family and friends, Ennis Regional Medical Center has various waiting rooms for Med/Surg/ICU and Surgery.
