Hospitalist Program
Round-the-Clock Physician Care
That’s why we’re here.
What exactly is a hospitalist? A hospitalist is a physician who cares for patients while they stay at the hospital as inpatients. Hospitalists have no patient care responsibilities outside the hospital, which enables them to focus exclusively on inpatients. Hospitalist physicians are specialists in Internal Medicine and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Hospitalists are uniquely trained in caring for you while you are in the hospital and devote personal attention and time to every patient. And because they encounter serious medical needs every day, hospitalists have proven expertise in treating acute illnesses, injuries, and other serious medical conditions.
Hospitalists work closely with the patients and referring physician, and will return the patient to their primary care physician for follow-up after discharge. The patient's primary care physician will receive a summary of the hospital stay so they can pick up outpatient care most efficiently.
